A NORTH Yorkshire theatre company's successful tour of one-act plays by Harold Pinter comes to an end this week.
The Pickering-based Northern Lights Theatre Company has been performing Pinter's The Lover and A Slight Ache in theatres around the region.
The tour has taken in large theatres in Sheffield and Richmond, arts centres in Goole and Helmsley, and village halls throughout North Yorkshire.
Director Alan Avery said: "Certainly The Lover is the more accessible of the two plays, with its theme of sexual fantasy and desire within a marriage, which the two young actors, Gayle Dennis and Clive Ashborn bring excitingly to the stage."
The second play, A Slight Ache, is in complete contrast. The story is slight but the beauty of the play is in Pinter's poetic language as reality fades into a dream-like swirl of words and sounds.
The tour closes with three performances in the region this week at Northallerton Town Hall, today, tickets from Greensleeves Music Shop, telephone (01609) 780253, and St John's College, York, tomorrow and Thursday, tickets are available from York Tourist Information Centre, by calling (01904) 621756.
All performances start at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £7 for adults and £5 for concessions.
