Schoolchildren had a sporty day with the Olympics in mind.
Le Cateau Primary School, in Catterick Garrison, linked up with Sport By Design for a day of Olympic-themed events that also helped with numeracy and knowledge of the world.
The youngsters tested their reflexes on the Batak board, pitting their hand-eye co-ordination against a computerised system of flashing lights.
A 5m sprint linked to a photo-electric camera and digital timer also got pulses racing, while workshops focused on cultural and sporting issues linked to the Games in Athens this summer.
Sport by Design spokesman, Richard Glazebrook said: "With the Olympics only a few months away, the idea was to provide the children with new experiences, including competitive events which help develop a sense of pride and achievement."
Headteacher Graham Shepherd said: "With the decline in fitness levels among youngsters today, it is important to raise levels of physical activity in the school and encourage healthier lifestyles.
"The school has been involved in the Healthy Schools Programme as it develops all aspects of health and has recently been awarded a Healthy Schools award."
