FILMING has been taking place in the North-East for an ITV series starring former Doctor Who Peter Davison.
The 53-year-old actor has swapped the cricket whites he made famous as the Dalek-destroying Doctor for a pair of designer shoes to play Bill Shore, a blinkered London plastic surgeon stranded on a remote Northumberland island.
In Distant Shores, a six-part series for ITV1, Davison and wife Lisa (Samantha Bond), daughter Kate (Claudia Renton) and son Harvey (Matthew Thomas Davies) abandon London for Hildasay - populated by quirky locals. The series has been filmed at various locations along the North-East coastline, including Dunstanburgh Castle, near Alnwick.
