A PHOTOGRAPHER with a flair for doing makeovers has opened her own studio.
Vanessa Gray, of Dipton, set up her studio above the Bute Pub in the village, with the help of a grant from Derwentside District Council.
She said: "I have done a number of photographic courses and when I moved to the region worked at a makeover firm in Newcastle. I was doing quite well and thought there was nothing stopping me from venturing out on my own."
Ms Gray has set up a website design business - Boomerang Webs - and studio.
She said: "I have bought a range of costumes and props for children to make the experience more fun for them - you can do natural shoots. Because the training I have had in makeover, I have also learned how to use satin and feathers to arrange around subjects, to do glamour shots.
"I am able to keep my costs down with shared film and a good local supplier, making my prices very competitive.
