THE European elections in the Yorkshire and Humber region will see candidates from nine parties and one independent contesting six seats.
The region's voters will take part in an all-postal ballot next month to decide which of the 53 candidates will represent them in the European Parliament.
Yorkshire and Humber has lost one of its seven seats following the enlargement of the union on May 1.
Representing the region at present are David Bowe, Richard Corbett and Linda McAvan, for Labour, Robert Goodwill, Timothy Kirkhope and Edward McMillan-Scott (Conservative), and Diana Wallis (Liberal Democrats). Robert Goodwill will not be standing for re-election.
The poll will be held on Thursday, June 10, and the results will be announced on Sunday, June 13.
The candidates are: Alliance for Green Socialism: Michael Davies, Azar Iqbal, Juliet Boddington, Celia Foote, Jeannie Sutton, Steven Radford. British National Party: Nicholas Cass, Christopher Beverley, John Brayshay, John Aveyard, Paul Cromie, Dianne Carr. Conservative and Unionist Party: Timothy Kirkhope, Edward McMillan-Scott, Mohammed Riaz, Kenneth Irvine, Ian Bruce, Carolyn Abbott. English Democrats Party: Gary Cowd, Stephen Elliott, Derek Smith, Nicholas Booth. Green Party: Mark Hill, Linda Duckenfield, John Phillips, Jonathan Dixon, John Norris, James Russell. Labour Party: Linda McAvan, Richard Corbett, David Bowe, Patricia Sutcliffe, Christopher Naylor, Jo-Anna Coles. Liberal Democrats: Diana Wallis, Julia Gash, Stewart Arnold, Robert Adamson, Colin Ross, Zulfiqar Ali. Respect - The Unity Party: Anas Altikriti, Mobeen Azhar, Susan Wild, Janet Alder, Katherine Owen, Christopher Cheetham.
