A BOOK celebrating the 50th anniversary of a national park was launched yesterday by actor Brian Blessed, right.
The book, The Yorkshire Dales - A 50th Anniversary of the National Park contains photographs, paintings and poems about the Dales.
Written by David Joy, local secretary of the Campaign for Protecting Rural England, it is publisher Great Northern's most popular book, selling more than 2,500 advance copies.
It was launched at the Dales Countryside Museum, in Hawes, by Mr Blessed, who is president of the Council for National Parks and also wrote the book's foreword.
The book is available from all good bookshops.
