A SERIES of walks that promise hikers a pint at the end of the route is being organised by a local Ramblers group.
Barnard Castle Ramblers have planned the evening walks, called Potter and Pint.
All the walks take place in Teesdale and end at a pub. Non-members are welcome.
The idea for the Potter and Pint walks came from John Bird, of Cotherstone.
He said: "Everyone is welcome. There is no charge for the walks but people should remember to bring money for drinks, and bus fares where relevant, and wear strong shoes or boots.
"We think these walks should prove to be very popular."
The first walk will start from the main gate of the Bowes Museum, Barnard Castle, at 7pm next Thursday. For details call (01833) 638970.
Other walks will take place on: Wednesday, June 9, leaving Barnard Castle post office, Galgate, at 6pm, details on (01833) 650034; Wednesday, June 16, 7pm leaving the Morritt Arms Hotel, at 7pm or car share from John Street, Barnard Castle, at 6.45pm, call (01833) 637756 for details, and Wednesday, June 23, from the Strathmore Arms, Holwick,at 7pm, or car share at 6.30pm from John Street, call (01833) 650034 or 637756.
