CARPERBY Rovers brought their season to a very successful end last week by winning the Wensleydale Creamery League.
They had already won the Medals shield competition and were finalists in the North Riding FA Saturday Challenge Cup.
In total, Carperby played 36 games this year, losing just five and drawing two. Two of the defeats were against Teesside League sides - Richmond Mavericks in the Dales cup final and Dormans, who won the North Riding cup.
At the presentation evening at the Wheatsheaf in Carperby last week, Len Scott, chairman of the Wensleydale Creamery League, said that Rovers had won the title on goal difference.
He especially thanked the sponsors and all those who helped with organising the league. The cup was presented to club captain David Moore by league secretary Richard Clark on behalf of the Wensleydale Creamery.
