LOCAL commercial and charity stall holders are being invited to take part in a summer carnival.
Organisers of Brotton Carnival, which will be held on Saturday, July 3 on Marshall Drive Playing Field, say the event will be a fun day for all the family.
Themes for the procession, which starts from the community centre car park, Laburnum Road, at 1pm, will be The Olympic Games and Ancient Greece. Julie Smuk, chairman and treasurer for Brotton Community Forum, which is organising the event, said: "Following the huge success of last year's community carnival, we are organising a similar event.
"This will be a fun day for everyone, irrespective of age.
"There will be plenty to do and the emphasis will be on fun and laughter."
One of the main events will be a companion dog show, which will include competitions such as the most beautiful dog, most obedient dog and dog with the waggiest tail.
Entry will be 50p per class. For more information about the classes call (01287) 676763.
Anyone interested in running a stall on the day, or who would like more information about the event should call (01287) 677659.
Admission to the carnival is free.
