A HOST of pop stars will take to the stage tomorrow to boost funds for a cancer charity.
Billy Row Club, near Crook, is the venue for the Stars in Your Eyes Special, which will feature local people dressed as their singing heroes.
Among the highlights are Abba, Meatloaf, Neil Diamond, Robbie Williams, Cher, Elvis, The Sugababes, Lionel Ritchie and Britney Spears.
It is the fifth year the event has been held and it has grown in popularity every year. Tickets sold out within 30 minutes of going on sale.
It started out at The Cottles Public House, in Willington, but outgrew its venue and is taking place at the club for the first time.
Kath Hunt, the show's musical director, said: "This show has grown from very basic beginnings to what it is now a very entertaining show that has given enjoyment to many over the years.
"It is hard to remember at times that the artists are amateur. Many put a lot of time, not to mention money, into perfecting their roles in order to put on the best possible show.''
This year money raised will go to Macmillan Nurses. Organisers are appealing to businesses and individuals for raffle prizes.
Anyone who wants to donate a prize can take them to Arthur Burnham's Fruit and Veg Shop, 101 Commercial Street, Willington.
