IT was a real family affair when champions, Stanley Royal completed their league campaign in style.
The Royal were odds-on favourites to complete their 100 per cent record in the top against bottom affair against near neighbours Stanley RAFA.
And the Royal duly won with Kevin Dixon junior banging in two of the goals while his dad, Kevin Dixon senior the ex-Hartlepool, Carlisle and Scunthorpe striker showing that age is no barrier when he grabbed the other goal.
During the week the RAFA had been on the wrong end of another big defeat when they were hit for six by Stanley Masons Arms SC, who recorded their biggest ever win.
The Masons scored after only 27 seconds through Dennis Dixon and it was virtually one-way traffic after that as they recorded a 6-1 win.
Marc Elliott scored two others along with Lee Pinder, Colin Stobbard and Paul Hutchinson while a long rang effort from Michael Valentine was the RAFA's consolation.
South Moor Sports lost the chance to claim third position when they were beaten 4-2 at home by Low Fell Jolly Miller. The Moor scored through Anthony Burgess and Scott Watson with Paul Lennon striking a superb hat-trick along with a Tom Cattnach goal for the Miller.
Despite goals from Colin Stobbard, Andrew Cooper and Lee Pinder, the Masons Arms lost out at home by the odd goal in seven against Pelton Fell.
Washington Oasis found themselves 2-0 down to runners-up Grange Villa before bouncing back to record a 3-2 win. The scorers for the Oasis were Costello Lorraine, Ross Fryer and Dean Robson with John Hayley and Ian Douglas replying for the Villa.
