DURHAM artists are taking to the Internet and a shopping centre to promote their work.
Durham Visuals Arts, a group of 15 artists, has put on a display, which is open today in the Milburngate Shopping Centre.
The exhibition coincides with the launch of the www.durhamvisual.arts.co.uk website, which has been developed by Durham company Cornwell Internet with backing from Durham City Arts.
The website gives information about the artists and exhibitions and shows their work.
The exhibition in the Milburngate is open from 10am to 5pm and features watercolours of local scenes, abstract art, sketches and sculpture.
Artist Bill Harris said: "This exhibition at Milburngate Shopping Centre provides a fantastic opportunity for visitors to meet the artists and see their work.
"Visitors can then continue to update themselves about the individual artists through the website, which will give them contact details, price ranges, examples of new work and details of upcoming exhibitions," he said.
"It is also a novel idea to take art to a shopping centre and we would like to thank Andy Bradley, Milburngate's centre manager, for the support he has given us."
