THE Archbishop of York has urged hospice supporters to get involved with a Tea at Three fundraising event next month.
Dr David Hope was one of the first to sample a new sunflower biscuit from Thomas the Baker when he took tea at three at Bishopthorpe Palace recently.
The Helmsley baker has created a sunflower biscuit that will be on sale in its shops throughout June.
The shortbread biscuit is in the shape of a sunflower, the symbol of the Hospice Movement. Five pence from each one sold will be donated to the hospices in the area the shops serve.
These are St Leonard's Hospice, in York, St Catherine's Hospice, in Scarborough, St Michael's Hospice, in Harrogate, and Teesside Hospice, in Middlesbrough.
Dr Hope encouraged people to organise tea parties at 3pm on June 18. Hospices throughout the country will hold Tea at Three events at the same time.
