Demolition work is being carried out to make way for a £35m development that will transform a former factory site.
The former Viasystems factory, on North Tyneside, will be turned into international office space.
Quorum Development Partners has appointed Thompsons of Prudhoe to demolish the former Viasystems printed circuit board factory, which was mothballed following its demise in 2002.
The 535,000 sq ft factory is being flattened to make way for 1.5 million sq ft of office space on the site, at Balliol Business Park East.
