Federation Special Durham Senior League: Burnmoor strolled to victory dismissing visitors Felling in only 18.2 overs. Paul Burn and Martin Thursfield did the early damage before Ian Conn claimed four wickets for three runs in 14 deliveries as Felling collapsed to 53 all out.
Skipper John Tindale applied the declaration after 47.3 overs with Burnmoor posting 177 for four. Mark Benfield was only five runs short of a century after hitting a six and 11 fours during his 154 minutes at the wicket. He was assisted by Neil Young (33).
Durham City fared only marginally better than Felling scoring just 63 in 33.2 overs against Eppleton. Former captain Gary Hulme contributed to the downfall returning figures of 4-16 in 12 overs.
Matthew Jane gave support claiming 4-15 and for Durham, Tom Meredith scored more than half the runs, ending undefeated on 39. Jimmy Daley swept Eppleton to a seven-wicket win hitting six fours in an impressive 48 not out.
South Hetton's batsmen also found the going difficult and they managed only 118 in their home fixture with Marsden for whom Graeme Fox and David Wills both took four wickets.
Almost all the total came from three batsmen with Bobby Steel, John Pendlington and Kyle Bradbury contributing 95 runs between them. Replying, Marsden had four wickets remaining when victory was achieved as Michael Gandy made a sound 34.
Runs were more plentiful at Whitburn where 454 were scored and ten wickets fell. Batting first, Boldon posted 251-4 with Grant Forster making 74, Richard Potter 73 and Orlanzo Jackson 63 not out.
Whitburn took up the challenge, but despite half centuries by Chris Ellison and David Bell, they were well short at stumps with 203-6.
Hetton Lyons, replying to the Horden total of 240-7, never seriously threatened but were comfortably placed at close of play on 180-3. Gerry Strydom opened with 62 before Graham Hoban (37 not out) and Tommy Nixon with an unbeaten 52 earned their side an equal share of the points.
Skipper Adrian Hedley struck 62, Nadeem Khan 58 and Stephen McCoy 49 for the Colliers and in a game when 12 bowlers were used, no-one did better than Nixon who returned figures of 3-52 in the Lyons' attack.
Seaham Harbour produced a defiant reply to the South Shields total at Wood Terrace to claim a draw.
Graeme Thorpe was the mainstay of the innings with 43 but in the end, it was down to Neil Swainston and Philip Snaith to save the day as Seaham ended on 146-9.
When they batted first, Shields were indebted to Ashok Patel for his 66 and to Neil Dixon (31) as a total of 177-9 was realised.
