A NUMBER of leading authors will be heading for the region later this summer for the second annual Harrogate Crime Writing Festival. The event, in July, is the largest of its kind in Europe, attracting writers and fans from all over the world.
This year's event is being sponsored by Theakston's Old Peculier and will include authors in conversation, panel sessions, late-night cabaret, industry seminars, true-crime specialists and forensic events.
Highlights of the programme, from July 22 to 25, include award-winning Minette Walters, former MI5 boss Stella Rimington, Martin Sixsmith, Christopher Brookmyre, Val McDermid and Colin Dexter - creator of Inspector Morse.
