TWO health workers are planning to take part in a gruelling 42-mile walk to raise money for charity.
Lee Henderson and Neil Barnes, who work for Sedgefield Primary Care Trust's health improvement team, are to tackle the Lyke Wake Walk next month.
The duo, both 34, work for the team recently established in Trimdon House and wanted to do something to benefit local causes.
Half of the money raised will go to the Rainbow Trust, which provides care for families of children with life-endangering or terminal illnesses, including a young boy in Trimdon Village.
The rest of the money will go the Bowburn Fun Club, which is run by Mr Henderson's mother and is in need of extra funds.
The walk, across the North York Moors, will be held on June 9, and the participants are looking for sponsors.
Mr Henderson said: "Neil and I want to raise as much money as possible for these good causes - that's the only reason I want to walk 42 miles.
"We've got 12 hours to do it in and we're going to get it done for two causes that really need the money."
Anyone interested in sponsoring the pair can contact them at Trimdon House on (01429) 880888.
