THE sound of music has helped swell the coffers of a hospital cancer unit's aromatherapy fund by £600.
Cancer patients and people needing medical day case treatment at the Mowbray Suite of Northallerton's Friarage Hospital will benefit thanks to a spring concert given by the East Witton Male Voice Choir held at Leyburn Methodist Hall.
The choir regularly helps the suite with donations and Sister Susan Whitehead attended the concert and spoke to the audience about aromatherapy and how it can benefit patients.
Aromatherapist Kathryn Almond provides the calming, soothing and supportive service, which has proved very popular with patients.
"It enhances their care and the support they already receive and complements their medical treatment," she said.
