Students celebrated the opening of their greenhouse with parents, carers, staff and guests.
The 3,200 sq ft greenhouse was donated by the G W Bulmer Trust to Horticap, the charity giving horticultural training and supported employment to people with learning disabilities in Harrogate, Ripon and Knaresborough.
The greenhouse, at the charity's base in Bluecoat Wood Nurseries, near Harrogate, also provides the latest technology to help plant production, including a watering scheme, which will save more than 140,000 gallons of water every year.
Students and staff spent weeks preparing bedding plants and hanging baskets in time for the opening, which was carried out by Harrogate MP Phil Willis.
Following the opening, Mr Willis took time out to get some gardening tips and advice from the students.
Horticap manager Ian Bradbury said: "This greenhouse is a most welcome donation and we are very grateful to the G W Bulmer Trust.
"Our thanks go to Philip Willis MP - we all had a great day on Friday and we hope you will come and visit our greenhouse and support the students who have produced some great plants and baskets for the summer."
