A training company for young people in the Tees Valley has achieved a glowing report from the Adult Learning Inspectorate.
TTE Management and Technical Training, which prepares young adults for careers in engineering, chemical and process industries, was awarded a grade two by the inspectorate in leadership, management and work-based learning in engineering.
Some areas of the company's work were found to be "outstanding".
The company, which also has a training centre in Scotland, teaches the youngsters through a student engineering programme and through industry sponsored modern apprenticeships.
David Sherlock, chief inspector of adult learning, said: "The aim of the inspection was to make an independent assessment of the quality of training at TTE, and it is wonderful to report that their students are benefiting from the high standard of learning that they are receiving. When learners improve their skills and achieve their qualifications they benefit their organisation, their communities and themselves."
Keith Hunter, managing director of TTE Management and Technical Training, said: "We have found that our alternative to the traditional A-level route of education is very successful, offering young people a structured career path and essential experience of a working environment throughout their training.
"The inspections are extremely useful and also give guidance on positive ways we can develop our business."
