AN engineering fair that attracted 200 students from seven secondary schools has been hailed a success by organisers.
The students aged 14 to 16 from York, Hambleton, Richmond and Scarborough spent the day at the first Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths Fair at Catterick Garrison.
They took part in a number of workshops aimed to give an insight into engineering trades and possible career opportunities.
The fair was organised by the 5 Battalion Royal Electrical Mechanical Engineers (REME) in partnership with North Yorkshire Business and Education Partnership.
Kevin Burnett, event organiser for REME, said: "The fair was a new event in the school calendar and was a great success. We hope to repeat it in the future."
