TWO Thai boxers are preparing for the biggest fights of their lives at a Bishop Auckland gym.
Azad Singh, whose Fit Factory gym in the town's Market Place is the base for the Hanuman Thai Boxing Camp, tops the bill when he fights for the British 67kg title at Tranmere Rovers Football Club on Saturday.
One of the camp's youngest members, Reece McAllister, 12, from Newton Aycliffe, is looking forward to his second tilt at a junior national title.
He narrowly lost in his first attempt in Manchester last month but has been granted a return match.
Boxers Sam Mitchell and Stacey Wade both fought well in Manchester last weekend.
Sam, 17, a pupil at Woodham Community Technology College, won her 63kg bout, while Stacey drew her fight with a male opponent.
The camp has 40 members and is establishing a strong youth section. It meets on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings, and Sunday afternoons. Contact the gym on (01388) 665522, or coach Paul Pearson on 07812 464745.
