South West Durham League: Addison Park lost heavily twice to champions Spennymoor A last season but they gained a very good win when the sides met in the second week of the new campaign.

Spectrum top the table after a maximum and the only other unbeaten side in division one are Leeholme.

Wolsingham top division two having dropped just a couple of points. Langley Park are a point behind with Fishburn a further point back in third spot.

Cleveland County

Playing their first outdoor match of the season Cleveland County displayed their strength in depth against a powerful Durham side at Jack Clark park, South Shields. The Adams trophy team put up an excellent fight sharing winning rinks three all and lost the team points by only three shots at Cleveland 158, Durham 161. Steve Cole with Barry Young and Harry Wright laid claim to the best rink prize with a sparkling finish giving them a 31-16 win. Cleveland's stars of the day was the Newton trophy team. Taking on a Durham side that regularly challenges for national honours the team won five rinks and the team points with a massive 201 shots to 135 gaining revenge for an earlier indoor defeat. Top rink was Richard Serginson with Nigel Routledge and Dave Jones who set their stall out early with 16 shots in 5 ends and ran out 49-19 winners. The teams are at home (Smiths Dock) tomorrow when Humberside will be the opponents.

Durham and District League

The clash between last season's champions, Leeholme and runners-up, Crook Belle Vue went in favour of the champions by six points. The Leeholme side made full use of home advantage to take the match at 91 shots to 73.

Despite this win Leeholme only share the top spot in the First Division with Pelton Fell and Wingate. Coxhoe and Sherburn Village are only two points adrift.

In the Second Division Newton Hall ended Shotton's unbeaten run with a 78 shots to 65 home win.

There was a major turn-up for the formbook when Cockton Hill B, who had not dropped a point all season, entertained Shildon Town, who had not broken their duck to date. However the visitors pulled off a very good four points victory with a rink win by 69 shots to 39.

Bishop Auckland moved up to share the top spot with King George V after they only dropped one point to the visiting Pelton Fell. The Bishops won by 75 shots to 57.

Moore (won by 31 shots) in South Park A's win over Railway B.
