A NEW life in Australia has revealed a hidden talent for former Darlington resident Lee Kemp.
The 34-year-old maintenance engineer, who moved to Australia with his wife four years ago, has discovered he has a talent as a club DJ.
Mr Kemp said that after dabbling at the turntables once or twice, he became hooked.
He now has a regular Saturday night spot at one of Melbourne's biggest clubs, and DJs every Friday night in the city's open air street party in Federation Square.
He said that he was also regularly featured in Australia's clubbing scene magazines.
Mr Kemp, who lived in the Haughton area and attended Haughton Secondary School, is due to return to Darlington on holiday next year to visit family and hopes to organise a charity DJ-ing event.
"I didn't really get into it until I got to Australia, but I really enjoy it," said Mr Kemp.
"I don't think I will ever leave my other job, but I'm doing pretty well on the clubbing scene. DJ-ing is like a paid hobby."
