THERE was a clean sweep of the honours when Stanley Royal added the League Challenge Cup to their impressive haul of silverware.
In an excellent final, the Royal just edged it by the odd goal in five when they came up against a Grange Villa WMC side who also finished as runners-up to the Royal in the Championship.
Goals from John Haley and Eugene Morgan were not quite good enough for the Villa who eventually lost out to strikes from Kevin Dixon (jnr), David Turner and David Robson.
The final league match of the season took place at South Moor Sports where the home team slumped to a shock home defeat.
Fourth placed Sports who could not overhaul the team above them Pelton Fell, lost out by the odd goal in three to lowly Washington Oasis.
Goals from Costa Lorraine and Andy Mather saw the Oasis claim only their fourth win of the campaign with South Moor Sports only managing to respond with a penalty from Michael Scott.
