A BEREAVED soccer player aims to see a charity achieve its goal to help others.
England footballer Danny Mills, who was recently on loan to the Boro, has been playing golf to help raise more than £30,000 for Asbah, the Association of Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus.
He was joined by Middlesbrough skipper Gareth Southgate, Leeds United striker Alan Smith and Leicester City goalkeeper Ian Walker at a pro-celebrity golf event to raise money for the charity's helpline appeal.
Danny, who lost his baby, Archie, to the condition in 2002, is backing the appeal to establish a helpline to provide advice and information.
The charity aims to raise £300,000 to fund the helpline over the next three years."
Danny, who was also speaking for his wife, Lisa, said: "Through our experience, I would just like to help people who go through the same thing."
