MEMBERS of a townswomen's guild have spent eight months painstakingly making a quilt to raffle in aid of the Great North Air Ambulance.
The women from Fairfield Townswomen's Guild, in Stockton, began their project in September after discovering how the air ambulance had to rely on donations. Janet Mines, secretary of the group, said: "We asked the air ambulance to come and do a talk and were surprised to learn they were losing money by sending speakers to these types of events. We had started this quilt before we asked and thought it would be a nice way to raise some money for the organisation if we had a raffle for it."
The quilt will be raffled among members of the group and it is hoped to raise about £100.
