THE replica of Captain Cook's ship the Endeavour is cutting admission prices to thank supporters in the region.
Endeavour arrived in Whitby last week and will be in her UK home port until June 14. From today until May 30, visitors will be able to tour the ship for £4 instead of the usual £7.
Captain Chris Blake said: "We would like to thank the friends of Endeavour for their continued support.
"Whitby is Endeavour's spiritual home, where we are always welcomed by large crowds. HM Bark Endeavour Foundation would like to thank all our supporters by offering them a reduced fee to come on board."
* A fundraising summer event will take place on board HMS Trincomalee.
Supporters of the ship are organising the event, at Hartlepool Historic Quay on June 19.
There will be entertainment from Hartlepool Youth and Community Silver Band, the Choir of Manor School and the Band and Guard of Honour of the TS Trincomalee Sea Cadet Unit, as well as seafaring charity stalls.
All profits will go towards the conservation of the ship. Tickets are £12.50 for adults and £6 for children, available on (01429) 267266.
