COLLEGE students celebrated a year of achievement at their adult learners' awards ceremony.
Terry Gibson, from Chilton, who successfully completed her second year in HNC computing, was named the overall winner for commitment to learning at Bishop Auckland College. She was nominated by lecturer Pauline Roddam.
The individual award went to Deborah Liddell, from Auckland Park, who is studying for a Cache Certificate in Childcare and Education. She was nominated by Martin Hearn.
There were joint winners in the outstanding group category.
Six employees from Filtronics, in Newton Aycliffe, were nominated by lecturer Barrie Morgan.
Christopher Bryden, Michael Burham, Mark Burt, Phillip Harris, David Jobling and Patrick Morrison, are studying for a foundation degree in engineering at the Digital Factory, in Newton Aycliffe.
The course is run in partnership with South West Durham training and Bradford University. An all-female group on the foundation degree in early years, endorsed by SureStart, were nominated by Philip Marshall.
They were: Beverley Banner, Stacey Baynham, Kathleen Bennett, Joanne Clark, Yvonne Clarkson, Dawn Fuller, Carol Hall, Vicky Hemmingway, Samantha Howe, Jennie Lee, Julie Oxenham, Sandra Rudd, Susan Tebble, Jean Williams and Lindsay Young.
