THE regeneration of a housing estate has taken another step forward.
Barratt/Keepmoat have been chosen as Stockton Borough Council's private developer partner and will work on the redevelopment of the Mandale Estate, in Thornaby.
Barratt Newcastle and Haslam Homes, part of Keepmoat, will build all the homes, including those on behalf of Nomad Housing Group.
The scheme will provide a mix of rented and private housing and is a partnership between residents, the council, Tristar Homes, Nomad Housing Group and Barratt/Keepmoat.
Councillor Martyn Ingram, the council's cabinet member for housing and community safety, said: "The appointment of the private developer is another step forward to achieving our vision of high-quality homes for everyone.
"The developers all have a proven track record in the delivery of regeneration schemes like Mandale and the proposals will provide high quality housing and environmental improvements for residents."
Consultation with residents has taken place with individual information sessions. Further consultation will take place when more detailed plans have been drawn up.
Residents who have any queries on the proposals for the estate can contact Katharine Linton on (01642) 526078.
