A YOUNG builder from Darlington has been named top apprentice after winning an award for his work during training in construction skills.
Brian Willis, 18, is employed by Darlington Borough Council.
He was awarded the Build Centre Prize in recognition of his skill and achievement.
Mr Willis, of Crosby Street, Darlington, received a £100 voucher and certificate to mark the achievement.
Darlington Borough Council instructor Colin Headlam said: "Brian has achieved excellent results in both theoretical and practical aspects of his course."
The awards are part of the Build Centre drive to recruit more people to the construction industry and promote high quality training.
