AN outreach worker on an east Durham housing estate is offering to help victims of crime.
Keith Scott has been appointed as the area officer for Eden Hill, Peterlee, by Victim Support in the Easington district.
Referrals on the estate to Victim Support, passed on by the police, will be offered assistance and advice from Mr Scott, whose appointment was backed by a Home Office-funded scheme to improve the quality of life in Eden Hill. Among Mr Scott's first jobs has been the setting up of weekly drop-in surgeries to hear the concerns of local people.
They will be staged at Pride House, a community building in Crawford Avenue, Eden Hill, each Friday, between 10.30am and 11.30am.
