A BOY has died after he fell through a skylight at a community centre.
Ten-year-old Jordan Toward, of Heaton, Newcastle, suffered head injuries in a 14ft fall at the Geoffrey Rhodes Centre, Byker, Newcastle.
One of his friends alerted emergency services.
Firefighters were called to help paramedics gain access through the skylight on Friday night.
They broke open two sets of double doors and carried Jordan out of the building on a stretcher.
He was taken to Newcastle General Hospital, but his condition worsened and he died on Saturday afternoon.
The building is used as a health centre for people in Newcastle's East End.
At the family's home, near the centre, Jordan's parents declined to comment. A friend said: "They are totally distraught."
Police are investigating the accident and have appealed for witnesses.
