There was no change to the leadership when the top four teams drew in the Federation Special Durham Senior League.

Table-toppers Burnmoor may have been heading for defeat at Boldon, but the home side were unable to take full advantage of the final hour's play.

Barry Dews (38) and Mark Benfield hurried the score along initially when the Burnmoor openers had 100 on the board in as many minutes. When Benfield departed for a well-worked 60 (ten fours and a six) his partner was out next ball but the Moors pushed on to declare after 51.5 overs.

Boldon's main wicket-taker was professional Orlanzo Jackson. Figures of 5-55 would have been better had it not been for a quick-fire late thrash by Martin Thursfield.

At the start of the last hour Boldon needed 96 with skipper Grant Forster leading the way. However, they lacked acceleration and the game was drawn.

Horden made all the running against Marsden. A useful ninth-wicket partnership of 58 between Keith Cheetham and Andrew Robson hoisted the champions to 202.

Marsden's reply was too pedestrian to make headway and Horden's lengthy batting allowed them to complete only 37 overs.

Durham City moved off the bottom when they registered their first win at Seaham Harbour. An opening stand of 81 between Paul Price (71) and Deshmukh (51) put City on their way to 212. However, the main impetus arrived late when skipper Brian Stone smacked 47 off 25 deliveries.

Seaham fell well short, despite 46 from David Thompson. Stephen Sennett, after picking up six wickets, also made a useful contribution but to no avail.

The Hetton Lyons - Whitburn game was full of runs. Chris Ellison (67) was Whitburn's top scorer and his stand of 80 with Ashley Thorpe for the second wicket set up Whitburn's large total. With Neil Johnson's half century and 62 from a Paul Shields - Paul Cook partnership, Whitburn ended with 225.

The Lyons raced off at a fast pace. Gerry Strydom (89) and Marc Hopkinson (71) took the score to 151 before being parted. Reaching the final over, 13 were required but it was too tall an order.

Felling and South Shields also played out a draw. Shields lost their way after John Dunn (49) and Ray McRae (39) opened up with 83 in 73 minutes. With the middle order unsure, they batted on to end with 171.

After losing three wickets for 31 runs, Felling's intention was to survive and they managed it, but ended well short of Shields' total.

Eppleton convincingly beat neighbours South Hetton. Sean Birbeck (76) and Jimmy Daley (46) caused early problems and South Hetton were left to chase 192. Then Birbeck and Gary Hulme (4-21) cleaned out South Hetton for 56.
