A Newton Aycliffe company has helped a local Guides group by providing equipment for a camping trip.
When Tracy Mounsey took over as leader of Newton Aycliffe Guides she discovered that there had been no camping trips for at least seven years.
Even worse, all of the troop's camping equipment had deteriorated into an unusable condition.
The Guides decided to launch an appeal for new camping equipment.
They contacted a range of organisations and businesses in the area to see if they could help the with any contributions of money equipment.
PVC manufacturer Hydro Polymers responded with the donation that was sufficient to buy thermal mugs for the whole troop, which will be ideal for keeping the cocoa warm on future camping trips.
The Guides hoping that other organisations may follow suit to help them in their appeal.
