A choir is to get aid towards buying a new piano while a teenage rugby team will get help towards the cost of equipment in the latest round of funds allocated by Scarborough Borough Council's northern area committee at Whitby.
The Dalesman Singers, who perform in churches and village halls in all parts of North Yorkshire and Cleveland, are to get £700 towards a portable piano for their concerts and Whitby Rugby Club's under-17s team will receive £913 towards its equipment.
Other grants include Eskdale Festival of the Arts, £500; Scarborough and District Search and Rescue Team, £500; Whitby in Bloom Group, £200; Danby Parish Business Directory, £500; Whitby and District Disablement Action Group for two scooters, £1,000; Whitby Musicport, £1,280; Whitby Endeavour Guides Association, £200.
