TICKETS are selling fast for the opportunity to follow in the tracks of the world's most famous vet.
The Herriot Railway Tour will be a chance to see the area where Alf Wight - the real James Herriot - lived and worked.
The package features a visit to the World of James Herriot centre, in Thirsk, and a trip into the Dales with Wensleydale Railway. Visitors will be guided on their trip by Alf's children, Jim and Rosie.
The day begins at 10am with a guided tour of the Herriot Centre. A 1940s John Smiths coach will then take visitors to Leeming Bar to join the Wensleydale Railway for a ride into the Dales and a buffet lunch.
The trips will be held on June 3 and June 5 with numbers limited to 30 per session.
Tickets are £30 each, to be bought in advance.
The event is being organised as part of the annual Herriot Happenings week organised by the Herriot Country Attractions Group.
