HOMELESS cat Mr Noggin appears to have little going for him at first glance.
Ten years old, toothless and with a pronounced limp, the unfortunate animal is not top of the shopping list for most people seeking a pet.
But Aristocat Rescue, the charity looking after the feline, is determined to find him a new home.
Julie Blakey, of Aristocats, said: "Being ten years old, he is already at a disadvantage against a whole load of kittens we've got.
"We think he has had some kind of pelvic problems and he has just got back from the vets where he had to have every tooth removed.
"He hasn't got a lot going for him, bless him, but I think it all adds to his character. He is so friendly and very loving."
Deborah Wood, who is looking after the cat at her home in Darlington, said Mr Noggin had been a stray.
She said: "The person who brought him in said he'd been living in her porch, but he'd been living rough for quite a long time and scavenging for food.
"He's a little bit weary and very quiet, but I think that's probably got something to do with his age.
"The woman who brought him in called him Mr Noggin."
Anyone who wants to provide Mr Noggin with a permanent home is asked to contact Aristocats on (01325) 300290.
