PUPILS at a Newton Aycliffe school are taking part in two art projects.
The first, called Written in Stone, involves ten pupils from Greenfield School making field trips to Northumberland to look at prehistoric rock art and take part in a five-day archaeological dig.
Pupils will develop their ideas with glass artist Katherine Hodgkinson to produce work for an exhibition at Newcastle's Museum of Antiquities in October. The work will also be displayed in the Greenfield Gallery in January.
The second project, Fire and Fountains, will be a street theatre performance.
Since early March, ten pupils from Greenfield School have been involved in workshops with the Dodgy Clutch Street Theatre Company.
This work will culminate in two public performances, involving eight schools, in Sunderland on Friday, June 25, and Durham a day later.
A free bus will leave the school for the performance in Durham. To book a seat contact Jo-Anne Mason, in the Arts Centre at Greenfield School, on (01325) 307147.
