A Newton Aycliffe company came to the rescue of a local guide group by providing equipment for a camping trip.
When Tracy Mounsey took over as leader of Newton Aycliffe Guides she discovered that there had been no camping trips for at least seven years.
Even worse, all of the troop's camping equipment had deteriorated while in storage.
The guides decided to launch an appeal for new camping gear and contacted a range of organisations and businesses in the area to see if they could help with any contributions of cash or equipment.
Local PVC manufacturer Hydro Polymers responded with the donation of a enough special thermo mugs for the whole troop, ideal for keeping the cocoa warm on future camping trips.
The guides are now hoping that other organisations in the area may follow Hydro Polymers example and help them in their appeal.
