STUDENTS will step out on the catwalk tonight to showcase the latest summer fashion creations from high street stores.
The charity fashion show has been organised by staff and students from New College Durham's hair, beauty and sports therapy department.
But members of other courses have pitched in to make a success of the event, which will be at the Garland Theatre, on the college's Framwellgate Moor site.
Twenty hair and beauty students have put in much of the work, backed by 15 trainee sports therapists, while others from courses across the college have offered their services.
Catering students have also done their bit to make the night go well by preparing the interval buffet.
Hairdressing lecturer Lyndsay Deswert said: "I have been involved in a few of these events over the years and they take months of planning.
"We are just hoping everything goes well on the night, there has certainly been plenty of effort put in."
Among stores backing the show are Wallis, British Home Stores, Marks and Spencer, Piedi Shoes, Body Essentials, McGurk Sports and Nostic.
Doors open from 5.30pm, and the show runs from 6pm to 8.30pm, including a half-hour interval, when the audience can browse stalls.
Admission is £2.50 at the door, with proceeds going to Cancer Research UK.
