THE final pieces of a public art project were lifted into place yesterday at the West Park development, in Darlington.
The large sculptures, transported by a 100-tonne crane, complete a project called Trinity Stones - a piece commissioned by developers Bussey and Armstrong to reflect the town's industrial and natural history.
During the next ten years, 700 houses will be built on West Park, a former chemical works, in Faverdale.
The site will include a community hall, school and a rugby club.
Tony Cooper, from Bussey and Armstrong, said artwork was an integral part of the development.
"The development project isn't just about bricks and mortar, it's about creating a lifestyle," he said.
"West Park will hopefully improve the quality of life for the people of Darlington."
