WHILE Leadgate Golden Lion swept all before them, spare a thought for unlucky Stateside.
Three times the Consett side found themselves in with a chance of silverware after being pipped for the runners-up spot by Lanchester Social on the final day of the season.
But unluckily for Stateside on each occasion in the Harkness Trophy, Consett Charity Cup and Stanley Aged Miners' Cup they found themselves against the Golden Lion and lost the lot.
The Golden Lion also added the Jack Grigg Memorial Trophy to the League Championship to make it a record-breaking clean sweep of all the top trophies.
In Division Two, Burton House beat the Blackhill Cricketers for the title and both will be promoted to the First Division along with Shaftoes and the Black Horse as there are four vacancies in the top flight.
Relegated to Division Two are Annfield Plain Cricket Club and Chopwell with the Steel Club and Annfield Plain Demi dropping into Division Three.
On their way up from the Third Division are champions Burgoynnes and Iveson Bowl winners Ball Alley who will in turn be joined by Delves Club and Burnhope.
The Division Two League Cup winners were Shaftoes with Burton House finishing as runners-up.
Three new clubs have already applied for next season - Witton Gilbert, Lanchester Cricket Club and Stanley Board Inn. Any other interested teams should contact David Cunningham on (01207) 505422 for more details.
* The league annual meeting will be held on Sunday, June 13 (10.30am) at Station Ex Juniors.
