A PRISONER refused to leave his cell to face a judge yesterday.
Daniel Paul Conroy, 19, was due to be sentenced for robbery, burglary, handling, failure to surrender and breaches of two court orders.
A jury found him guilty of robbing a woman of her handbag and mobile phone on August 10 last year.
He also pleaded guilty to a £700 house burglary in Middlesbrough on October 15, handling stolen electrical equipment in Middlesbrough last September, failing to surrender to bail on October 7, and breaches of community punishment and community rehabilitation orders.
Judge Les Spittle, sitting at Teesside Crown Court, adjourned the case for a week.
He said that if Conroy still refused to leave his cell he would be sentenced in his absence.
