Worthington CIU Summer League: Fishburn A were able to hold on to the top spot in the First Division after they won a black ball decider at Meadowfield.
Norman Smith put the home side ahead but then Fishburn had wins from John Griffin and Brian Quest. Craig Hughes levelled the match but then Wayne Oliver potted the final black to beat Ian Hodgson by five points.
Wheatley Hill A moved up to share the First Division leadership after they only dropped one point to the visiting Newhouse, who had John Maddox as their only winner. The Hill's points came from Dave Walker with a 38 break, Dennis Clish, Alan Hall and Ronnie Peacock.
Willington slipped a point behind the leaders after they became the first team to lose to Crowtrees A this season. Dave Lowery put Crowtrees ahead but the visitors took the next two through Jeremy Martin with a 33 break and Tom Parkin. Sonny Hann squared the match and then Sean Johnston took Crowtrees to victory by beating Stan Bennett.
Sherburn Village moved a point below Willington when they went down by the odd point at Newton Aycliffe. Michael Hewitt, Stuart Neil and Bill Barrigan won for the home side with Gary Deluce and John Bower replying.
Spennymoor A, the reigning champions, made their first win of the season when they edged through against the visiting Witton Gilbert by the odd point. Paul Biddle gave the Moors a great start when he knocked in a 92 break but John Rooney junior levelled. John Wilson restored the home lead with a 39 break only to see Ian Renwick equalise. In the decider the Moors Michael Pratt beat John Rooney senior.
Brandon quickly recovered from their whitewash reversal last week when they entertained Shotton Palms and raced to a four points lead with wins from John Hall, Graeme Jackson, Brian Graham and Kevin Sample before Dave Swindle saved the Palms whitewash in the final frame.
Coundon A moved to the top of the Second Division after dropping only one frame at Durham City, who had Barry Stoddart as their winner. The visitors' points came from Frank Nicholson, Billy Goggins, Willy Shoulder and Graham Goulbourn.
Bearpark slipped one point behind Coundon A when they lost by the odd point to the visiting Old Shildon. John Jackson and Glen Morton won points for the home side, whilst Mal Parsley, Martin Taylor and Paul Armstrong took Shildon to victory.
Wheatley Hill B were removed from the top spot in the Second Division when they went down to their first defeat, only picking up one point at Stanley Central when Peter Taylor won. The home side had points from Jimmy Dufton, Jimmy Musgrave, Bob Oxley with a 32 break and Michael Vickery.
Langley Park made their first win of the season when they only dropped one point to the visiting Crook Belle Vue, who had Ken Rider as their only winner. The home side had wins from Dave Ellison, Lenny Thompson, Stephen Coates and Lawrence Jones.
Spennymoor B are still looking for their first win of the season after they went down by the odd point at Ferryhill A. The home side had wins from Glyn Toas, Bernie Jones and Neil Spender, whilst Micky Anderson and Alan Clarke took points for the Moors.
Sacriston moved to the top of the Third Division after they only dropped one point to the visiting Hunwick, who had Neville Blenkinsopp as their only winner. The home points came from Neil Burn, Dale Evans, Jeff Evans and Mark Appleby.
Coundon B retained their unbeaten record by taking the first three frames at home to Crowtrees B through Steven Bainbridge, John Paul Wringe and Dave Lidster. The visitors then replied through Billy Edwards and Terry Gibson.
Leeholme A joined Coundon B just one point behind the leaders when they beat the visiting Ferryhill B in the decider. Ray Gill put Leeholme ahead with Mark Wilson levelling. Dave Hudspeth restored the home lead only to see David Nelson equalise. In the decider Leeholme's Alan Roe put in a decisive 26 break to beat Stuart Roddam.
Fishburn B are two points behind the Third Division leaders after they edged through to a win in the decider against the visiting Tow Law B. David Thomas put Fishburn ahead but the visitors had wins from Adam Orton and Paul Chollerton. George Whitelock levelled the match and then Fishburn's Michael bell beat John Wilson in the decider.
League newcomers, Willington Victoria recorded their first win ever with a great recovery against the visiting Leeholme B. The visitors went two up with wins from John Taylor and Christopher Davison. However Brian Bell and Ronnie Murray squared the match and then the Victoria's John Facey beat Tony Clish in the decider.
Only Peter Wilson managed a win for Bearpark B on their visit to Tow Law A, who had wins from Heppell Hodgson, Stephen Laing, David Johnson, who made a spectacular recovery from needing snookers to win on his debut, and Tommy Williams.

Barnard Castle Glaxo moved off the foot of the First Division with a two points home win over Newton Aycliffe Southerne Club. The Glaxo winners were Peter Gaffney, Peter Grace and Steve Hooper, whilst Graham Isaacs scored for the visitors.
Bishop Auckland Golf Club made up some leeway towards retaining their Championship when they whitewashed their hosts at Darlington Snooker Club A with wins from Paul Weighill, Charlie Blake, Andrew Aisbitt and Dave Oughton.
Northgate moved up to share the Second Division top spot with Darlington Snooker B after they whitewashed the visiting Snooker C team. The home winners were Paul Smith, Dave Spencer, Mick Trueman and Clive Miller.
Rise Carr made their first draw of the season but are still looking for a win after the visiting Tindale Crescent took points through Wayne Kirkbride and Stephen Binks, who made a 30 break. Ronnie Fletcher and Neil Willis scored for Rise Carr.
