Protests have been made about plans to hold table-top sales in a boathouse at a riverside beauty spot.
Under the proposal, sales would be held during the annual boating season, while boats on the River Nidd, at Waterside, Knaresborough, are waiting to be hired.
The building is used to store the boats out of season, but is largely unused when boats are hired.
A planning application to change the use of the boathouse during the tourist season has been made by Harrogate Borough Council on behalf of a tenant who runs the boats from Waterside.
But the application has brought objections from Knaresborough Town Council and the Civic Society.
Members of Harrogate Borough Council's area planning committee will meet on Tuesday to discuss the application.
Planning officer Neville Watson is recommending that councillors approve the scheme.
