Crook Ladies League: League champions, Crook Queen's Head A started the new season in good form with a seven points home win over Crook Travellers Rest.
Last season's runners-up, Crook Jelly's Bar B produced a similar victory on their visit to Tow Law Station A, but the biggest win of the first week was Crook Cricket Club's success at Billy Row Royal George, where they only dropped one point.
The leading individual scorers were Susan Hind 140 for the Black Horse, Martha Lewis 133 for the Cricket Club, Michelle Blyth 121 for Billy Row Green B and Mary Crossling 121 for Belle Vue Club.

Wear Valley Ladies League
It was semi-finals night in various competitions with the matches staged at two venues. At Byers Green Club the hosts qualified for the final of the four-a-side cup when they whitewashed the Crook Bar 56 team. The hosts were not so lucky when they played the semi-final of the Team Pairs Knock Out Cup for they suffered the whitewash at the hands of Crook Golden Fleece.
In the semi-final of the Open Pairs Competition Betty Chapman and Joan Mills beat Julie Heslop and Corinne Heslop 2-0.
At Crook Coach and Horses, Crook White Swan won their way to the final of the four-a-side cup with a 4-1 victory over Crook Mill House. The White Swan had further success when they beat Crook Royal Sun in the semi-final of the Team Singles Knock Out.
Crook Royal Sun bounced back to beat Howden Sunnydene Lodge 2-0 in the semi-final of the Team Pairs Knock Out Cup. In the semi-final of the Open Singles Val Hope beat Carol Haygarth 2-0.
The leading individual scorers were Joan Mills 138 and 125 and Corinne Heslop 125 for the Golden Fleece, Val Hope 125 for the Olde Horse Shoe and Joyce Turnbull 123 for Sunnydene Lodge.
Crook League
Jeff Sneath of Belle Vue WMC is the new holder of the Wearmouth Singles Trophy after beating Eric Johnson of RAFA 2-0 in the final. Sneath beat Stephen Gibson (Queens Head) 2-0 in the semi final whilst Johnson defeated Stephen Cavigan (Travellers Rest) also 2-0.
The Fred Irvine pairs trophy goes to Belle Vue pair Jeff Sneath and Doug McCarthy who beat Kevin Sanderson and Alan Hawkey (Coach and Horses) 2-0 in the final. In the semi final the winners beat Alan Sneath and Barry Longstaff (Surtees) 2-0. Sanderson and Hawkey overcame The Green duo Bobby Hutchinson and Charlie Emerson by the same score.
RAFA quartet Eric Johnson, Kevin Potts, David Sneath and Kevin Storey beat Trevor Smith, John Davidson, Stephen Hayton and Sid Booth of Golden Fleece A 2-0 to win the Harry Mangles trophy.
Belle Vue took an unassailable 5-0 lead at darts against The Green in the final of the team knockout. The Green won the dominoes 3-2 but Belle Vue won 7-3 on aggregate.
White Swan's Kevin Carter beat Bobby Hutchinson (The Green) 5-3 in the final of the dominoes. Carter defeated John Hunt (Belle Vue) 5-3 in the semi final whilst Hutchinson had a walkover.
The presentation of trophies will take place on June 7 at Sunnydene Lodge.
