League play-off, Middlesbrough PO 2 King's Head 1: Middlesbrough Post Office took this year's Stokesley League title in a closely fought play-off against the King's Head that was not decided until the last minute of the game.
King's Head wasted no time getting into this game with their recent exploits against St. Mary's College giving them the edge in the early stages of the game.
They were rewarded just three minutes into the match when Paul Parkes capitalised on a goalkeeping error to get the Guisborough side off to a fine start.
With Posties getting stronger as the game went on, substitute Scott Heslop turned the game on it's head when he pounced on another goalkeeping slip to tap home from close range.
In a frantic last few minutes, John Symon saw his well struck shot saved before King's Pau;l Round was desperately unlucky to see his curling shot bounce back into play off the post with just two minutes remaining.
The match looked all set to go to extra time when the league's leading scorer John Symon made no mistake to fire home the Post Office winner.
After the game, Mr. Dennis Cope presented the League Trophy to Posties skipper John Leach while Mr. Dave Ransley presented the 'Golden Boot' award to Symon.
League Chairman Dave Ollis thanked the match officials Andy Himsworth, Ross Joyce and George Collins.
