It was a case of deja-vu in the final at Crowtrees when Jimmy Evans of Shotton Palms again took the title by beating Charlie Donaghy of Tow Law. This gave Evans a two win advantage after the pair had met in the final in the last six competitions.
In the round robin stages both Evans and Donaghy went through unbeaten with Evans beating Peter Laverick by 23, Sean Johnston by 34 and John Hall by 24. Donaghy beat Sean Johnston by 50, Peter Laverick by 36 but then just scraped through against John Hall by two points.
Third place went to Peter Laverick with wins over Sean Johnston by three points and over John Hall by two points. John Hall took fourth place when he beat Sean Johnston by ten points.
In the final Evans moved from level to lead with a 41 break, which took home nine from game. Donaghy never managed to really close the gap and went down by 34 points.
