STUDENTS staged a fashion show that could affect the rest of their lives.

Costumes by final year undergraduates at Cleveland College of Art and Design, in Hartlepool, had their efforts judged by assessors as part of their final exams.

The costumes, which are designed to be used by actors on theatre, television and film sets, were displayed by friends and family of the students.

Members of the public will be able to see the costumes, many of which had a Swan Lake ballet theme, at the college in Hartlepool's Church Square from Thursday to Wednesday, June 10 to 16.

Lecturer Tony Shaw said the students had been nervous leading up to the deadline.

He said: "They have a lot to do and a lot of them have been panicking in the build-up to the big day, but the standard was very high."
